Fun Summer part 1

This summer has been one of the best I have ever had. We have had so much fun. I have enjoyed it so much. I have so many pictures so here are some of them:

I love where we live. We can go to the lake and ride boats whenever we want. It is so close, we can just walk there.

July 24th

Fireworks with the cousins.

My niece, Jane was so excited whenever I gave her a cracker. It was funny. And I couldn't forget cute little Sarah!

Danny has always been afraid of fireworks. He was standing behind the car most of the time.

This was Brian and I at dinner, the night Lil went through the temple. What a wonderful night.

The kids. This is about the best I could get.

Zipline, fireworks, and glow sticks at Brian's aunt and uncle's house.

Be jealous

Last week, my SIL, Kelli asked Brian and I if we wanted to bring the kids to Lagoon for her work party. She got some extra tickets for free so we went. We didn't get there until 4 and that was the perfect amount of time.

So while we were eating dinner, they had a drawing for prizes. They held up a fat, stuffed cow and called out Josh's number (our good friend). We laughed. But not as hard as when they held up this lovely brownish yellow sweatshirt that read LAGOON in plaid and called out my brother, Bobby's number. It was hilarious.

We decided it fit Josh perfectly...with his stuffed cow. Nothing like a crap colored sweatshirt to make you feel in style.

Goodbye Elizabeth

Last Wednesday, my little sister Elizabeth went on her mission. I kept expecting her to back out but she stayed strong and actually went! She is loving the MTC too. I am shocked. She even sat up in the middle of the night, hit her head and got a black eye. She just laughed about it. I am so happy for her. I already miss her though. I can't believe Sarah will be 2 when Alex and Elizabeth get home.

We went to the pizza factory before she went to the MTC. It was fun but everyone was crying by the time we left.

My poor mom and dad are so sad. They had a really hard time when she left. I always make fun of them for crying about it so much but my time will come when my boys will go. I won't be laughing then.

Patience

I am learning patience more this summer than ever before.
I have loved this summer. It has been so much fun.
But I am tired now.
Very tired.
The kids are getting bored and need some structure.
So they cry and whine and beat each other up and yell mean things to me and drive Sarah crazy.
I must say that I think I have become very patient with my kids.
I will never be as patient as I would like to be but I am working on it.
I must say that these frustrating times make me appreciate when the kids are so sweet.
Like everyday when both boys tell me they love me before I tell them.
I am lucky to have them.

Yesterday Danny was chasing his cousin, Sophie, and he fell on the ground and got a deep cut above his eye. Boy am I thankful that he didn't cut his eye. We took him to the hospital and he was really shaken up. So we waited for like 2 hours for the doctor to finally come in and give him stitches. That was sad. They had to give him a bunch of shots right in the middle of the cut to numb it and he just screamed. They had to wrap him in a blanket like a little baby so that they could hold him still. Poor guy.
Then Sophie saw him and told me that his cut looked like a monster and she didn't like it. It was pretty funny. She didn't want to be alone with him.
Danny was afraid to go outside today because he didn't want people to be mean to him because of his cut. He didn't want the attention.
Anyway the doctor said he couldn't get it wet until Friday. That has been much harder than I thought. The boys get wet every single day. We love to go swimming. So that has been pretty crappy. So we went to the library instead.
Oh and the sticking the tongue out picture is his new thing. He always does that. Good thing we don't need any professional pictures taken.

I hate baby food.
But not as much as Sarah.
She takes a few bites and gags.
And cries and cries and cries.
It is so frustrating. I am trying to get her to eat food and take a bottle so that I can leave her for the weekend but she refuses. She is such a happy baby so I hate to see her like this but I need her to get use to it. I have tried rice cereal, peaches, applesauce, carrots, and bananas and I get the same reaction every time.
Why am I complaining? I have an amazing friend who still pumps breastmilk to feed her 2 year old because that is all he can eat. Wow I feel really selfish right now...and lucky.

Alright, finally some food she likes.
Bread. She loves bread.

Brothers

It is so much fun to have these 2 close in age. Even though they are always beating up on each other and making each other cry, they really love each other.

Poor Sam fell off of my parent's hammock and chipped his front tooth.

I have been trying to potty train Sam and he said that he wanted Lightning McQueen underpants. I bought him some and he put them right over his pants. I think it might be a while before he is potty trained.

Sam just follows Danny wherever he goes and copies everything he says. Danny gets annoyed and sometimes ignores him but Sam just adores him. Whenever he gets a treat or anything special, he always asks for 2 because he wants to share it with Danny.

Playing baseball with Dad. They love him to death.
Little Sambo.
